Fifteen representatives of the education system of the Sverdlovsk region got acquainted with the capabilities of the only Center in Russia for independent and objective assessment, as well as various testing formats, that the participants could choose to test their knowledge.
“Independent and objective testing provides an opportunity to test your knowledge, to identify and resolve issues. It’s not only the culture of a child’s self-assessment, but also conventional professional qualifications which a teacher and an education manager should possess. The Center cooperates with many structures and our carefully selected testing materials are trustworthy,” said Head of the Department of Educational Supervision and Administration of the Ministry of General and Professional Education of the Sverdlovsk region, Helen Perevozkina.
The delegation representatives were especially impressed by the fact that not only students but their teachers and parents could test their knowledge as well.
“Over 180000 people have tested their knowledge. Children, teachers, students, university graduates and parents are among them,” said Head of the Center of Independent Assessment, Bogdan Legostaev.
The employees of the Center introduced the colleagues to the online self-preparation service “My Achievements”, which included subject and metacognitive testing, tasks in the format of NSE, BSE and international studies format. What is special about the service is that it gives an opportunity to test one’s knowledge at any time in any place. You just need a PC, a tablet or a smartphone. Moscow schoolchildren have frequently noted how useful the Center is, as it allows them to identify gaps in their knowledge.
The representatives of the Sverdlovsk region education system visited the Center for Independent Assessment.
The guests noted how motivated the administration of the Center was to use modern technologies for independent knowledge testing.
The participants got acquainted with testing technologies in the virtual reality format available in the Center itself and in any city school thanks to the work of Mobile Center of Independent Assessment.
“VR-technologies help expand students' research opportunities in the conditions that are difficult to simulate at school. Children think that they are just playing, but at the same time they conduct real experiments and calculations, work together to achieve joint results”, said Bogdan Legostaev.
